What we do

As Independent Resettlement Advocates we provide help to people with a learning disability to successfully move to a new home.

Importantly, in some instances, this may require the non-instructed advocacy approach.

We work with Social Workers, Community Health Teams, current and new care providers, home help, benefits specialists, landlords, solicitors etc., with advocacy partners with a learning disability and on their behalf towards a seamless transition to living in the community.

Who we are

People in Partnership is an independent charity. To read more, please visit this page: about us.

We are particularly concerned that the people we support, our advocacy partners, have a say in their future lives and we encourage the development of Person Centred approaches.

We acknowledge and support H.M.Government Strategies including: Valuing People, A Healthier Future, Equal Lives Report objectives, and Supporting People.

About our advocates

They support people with a learning disability.

They ask them what they want.

They think what people with a learning disability say is important and make sure things are clearly explained to them.

They make sure our service users are listened to by others and their RIGHTS are upheld.

They can see people at a place where they feel happy to talk.

They keep things confidential and explain to others what our service users find difficult to say.
